The R.M. of Brokenhead does not have a landfill or transfer station of its own.  Our residents are permitted to use the following landfills and transfer stations in neighbouring municipalities:

The recycling facility for the R.M. of Brokenhead residents is located at the R.M. of Brokenhead yard at 72013 Road 42E.

The dumping of unacceptable materials in the recycling bins will result in the closure of the recycling compound.

E-Waste

E-waste refers to electronic consumer products that are considered to be obsolete, unwanted and available for discard.  Items include computer equipement and peripherals, televisions, telephones and accessories, and audio and video equipment.

Items accepted at the RM of Brokenhead Recycling Compound and Responsible Electronics Recycling include:

  • Cables with or without connectors or ends
  • Circuit boards and cards such as sound, video, network, modems, controllers
  • Circuit boards and cabinets from communication equipment
  • Internal or external CD-ROMs, DVD and CD-ROM burners
  • Electronic and manual typewriters
  • Fax machines, scanners and photocopiers
  • Hard disks (HD) and floppy drives (FD)
  • Laptops and laptop parts
  • Laptop accessories, chargers, batteries, cables and cards
  • External modems, drives, and sound systems
  • Networking equipment, cards, hubs, routers, switches and cabling
  • Personal computers (CPU, monitors, keyboards, mouse and peripherals)
  • Inkjet and laser printers, colour and black & white
  • Software manuals, CDs, DVDs and diskettes
