Road Closure – Road 45E
Please note that within the next few days, a portion of Road 45E (between Highway 44 and Mile 71N) will be blocked due to construction work along the railway tracks. Local traffic will be permitted and the work will not be longer than 1 day. Please be cautious when travelling in this area.
Additions to Voters List and/or Personal Security Protection Requests
Please be advised that a general municipal election will be held on October 24th, 2018.
In accordance with Section 36 of The Municipal Councils and School Boards Election Act (MCSBEA), the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead Voters List is open for changes or revisions.
- Any person who is eligible to vote in municipal elections in the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead can have his or her name added to the Voters List or have any information about the voter on the Voters List corrected.
- Any person can request to have his or her name and address obscured from the Voters List.
A person whose name has been obscured will receive a Personal Security Certificate and identification number. In a civic election, that person may only vote by Sealed Envelope Ballot and cannot vote in person at the regular advance voting places.
To implement the above, a written request must be submitted to the Senior Election Official, in person, by e-mail, fax, or mail to:

2018 Spring Road Restrictions
Each year, the Municipal road infrastructure is weakened by the spring thaw. To reduce damage to our roads, reduced vehicle weights are applied to all Local Urban District of Tyndall, Garson and Henryville streets. This year, depending on weather conditions, restrictions will be applied similar to the dates chosen by the Province, which at this time will commence March 20th, 2018.
During this time, all streets will be limited to 65% of normal axle loads and may remain in effect for up to 72 days.

The Rural Municipality of Brokenhead will be holding its annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day June 9th, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Items accepted include domestic pesticides, oil-based paint, cosmetics, as well as flammable, corrosive and toxic chemicals.

2018 Garbage Stickers
The 2018 garbage stickers are available for pick-up at the RM of Brokenhead Office. We are open Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The green 2018 stickers must now be used. Any bags with orange or pink stickers will not be picked up after January 31st, 2018. The green 2018 stickers will expire January 31st, 2019.
If you cannot attend during office hours, you can call to give someone else authorization to pick your stickers up on your behalf. All we require is the name of the person attending on your behalf.
Attention Homeowners, Farmers and Contractors!
Some ditching projects have excess fill (mud) that needs to be hauled away. If your location is near an upcoming project, the Municipality can haul the excess fill at no cost. Also, if you have equipment to do so, you can collect the fill and haul it during construction.

Water & Sewer Connection Deadline
Please be reminded that all property owners are responsible for connecting to the municipal water and sewer system by December 31st, 2010. If connections are not made, the Municipality will enter upon the property to make the necessary connection to the water and sewer system and the property owner will be responsible for all costs incurred therein. Such costs shall become a charge and lien upon the land and maybe added to the Tax Roll and collected in the same manner as ordinary taxes.
