Applications are now being accepted for the position of a permanent full-time Public Works equipment operator for the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead. Duties include, but are not limited to, road maintenance, drainage enhancement, and operating an excavator, grader, crawler, semi and tandem vehicles.
Recommended qualifications include:
-Grade 12 education, or better
-Class 1 driver’s license
-Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment

2017 Spring Road Restrictions
Each year, the Municipal road infrastructure is weakened by the spring thaw. To reduce damage to our roads, reduced vehicle weights are applied to all Local Urban District of Tyndall-Garson and Henryville streets. This year, depending on weather conditions, restrictions will be applied similar to the dates chosen by the Province of Manitoba, which at this time will commence March 20th, 2017.
During this time, all streets will be limited to 65% of normal axle loads and may remain in effect for up to 56 days.

2016 Seniors’ School Tax Rebate
The deadline to apply for the 2015 Rebate has passed.
The 2016 Rebate will be claimed when you file your 2016 income tax return in the spring of 2017. This means that a separate application for the Rebate is no longer necessary. It also means that in future years, you will be able to make retroactive claims for up to three years, but no further back than the 2016 Rebate.
To be eligible for the Seniors’ School Tax Rebate, you or your spouse/common-law partner must:
-be 65 years of age or older by the end of the year (December 31st, 2016);
-own your home or be liable for paying the school taxes on your principal residence;
-live in your home, and
-be residents of Manitoba

Specifics about the office include:

Water & Sewer Connection Deadline
Please be reminded that all property owners are responsible for connecting to the municipal water and sewer system by December 31st, 2010. If connections are not made, the Municipality will enter upon the property to make the necessary connection to the water and sewer system and the property owner will be responsible for all costs incurred therein. Such costs shall become a charge and lien upon the land and maybe added to the Tax Roll and collected in the same manner as ordinary taxes.
